Gathering driftwood…

On January 18, 2018 By grassupthemiddle2 Comments

First ride out was on Saturday morning, early Saturday morning, like 5am early, obviously jet lagged I decided to go out for half …

More fantastic book discoveries... Lots to be happy about and highlights a plenty. From a riding point of …

Back at it…

Tuesday 12th Sept. An early start with a keen eye on the skies this morning.  The actual conditions and the forecast not quite matching up, but apart from the unavoidable wet roads all was relatively well as myself, Steve and Graham met at the usual spot and headed off for a now classic #grassupthemiddle breakfast …

What would Charlie Chadwick do..?

On August 20, 2017August 21, 2017 By grassupthemiddle3 Comments

Its no secret that both Paul and I have developed a real enthusiasm for the writings of Mr Charles Chadwick, I still find the early writings of the then seventeen year old Charlie hard to believe, the fact that it started almost a century ago only adding to the sense of amazement. Todays ride was …

I am a pro cyclist…

On August 1, 2017 By grassupthemiddleLeave a comment

It’s on loose terms that I can claim to be a pro cyclist but being paid to ride your bicycle is none the less a privilege I have been lucky enough to relish once a week for several sunny months. I jumped at the chance to lead a ride from work and each and every time I …

8 days off work. Straddling the end of May and the beginning of June, what could possibly go wrong? I'll say it, although I'm sick to death of saying it..! THE BASTARD WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong. It's always lovely to be off work, and I have been busying myself with work around the house, …
